A new poll exploring the public attitudes towards the imprisonment of young people, commissioned by the Prison Reform Trust and carried out by YouGov, has revealed that the British public feel parental supervision is a more effective means of reducing reoffending than a prison sentence.
However, a comparison with a poll commissioned by IPRT in 2007 shows a more punitive attitude in the British poll.
