Liam Herrick talks to David Harvey on 4FM's 'Lunchtime on 4' about the contradiction of building new prison spaces when such chronic conditions exist in the current prisons.
What we need is a smaller, more focussed system - prisons that make it less likely that people will reoffend - rather than a further expanded system, which will only offer more of the same and will not see any reduction in crime.
