On 17 July 2024, Saoirse Brady, Executive Director of Irish Penal Reform Trust featured on an episode of the Newstalk show ‘Younified’, which hears stories and perspectives from people from underrepresented diverse communities around Ireland. The discussion was based on the topic of how should we reintegrate former prisoners back into society and was hosted by Mamobo Ogoro. Saoirse joined the panel featuring Damien Quinn, founder of Speire Nua, which aims to assist people with criminal convictions to access the labour market, and Pat Sheedy, author of “A Hundred To One”, who both have experienced being in custody in prison.
Respect for rights in the penal system with prison as a last resort.
