On 20 October, Gavin O'Callaghan of RTÉ Radio 1 reported on prison overcrowding. He spoke to Irish Penal Reform Trust Executive Director, Saoirse Brady, as well as families of people in prison and the Prison Officers Association.
Saoirse spoke about the need to address prison overcrowding in the short and long term, mentioned the recently released Prison Overcrowding Response Group report and spoke about the solutions.
Respect for rights in the penal system with prison as a last resort.
