The latest in the IPRT Prison Law Seminar Series took place on Tuesday 16th July 2013 at the Courts of Criminal Justice Seminar Room, in conjunction with the Irish Criminal Bar Association (ICBA) on the topic of Civil Litigation by Prisoners.
The event was chaired by Mr. Justice Gerard Hogan of the High Court of Ireland and included presentations from William Binchy BL on Prisoners and the Law of Tort; Patrick Keane SC on the recent case of Creighton v Ireland and Ors; and John Ward BL on procedural issues in relation to the Prison Rules 2007. IPRT also launched a new Discussion Document on the Rights and Needs of Remand Detainees at the event.
