Irish Prison Service releases Annual Report 2016

The Irish Prison Service (IPS) has released its 2016 Annual Report. The report features statistics relating to the profile of the prison population in Ireland.

The progress report on the implementation of year 1 of the Strategic Plan forms part of this report.

The number of total committals to prison decreased by 12.2% when compared with the 2015 figures.
