IPRT to hold Advocacy Training

IPRT Executive Director Rick Lines will co-facilitate a one-day series of advocacy training workshops at the Irish Centre for Human Rights in Galway. 

Entitled "Ploughing the Ground: Making Change Happen through Effective Advocacy", the seminar will explore effective strategies for human rights campaigning and lobbying.

The seminar will be held Friday 14 July in the seminar room at the Irish Centre for Human Rights at the National University of Ireland, Galway.

People who are interested are welcome to come for the whole day, or to pop in and out only for the specific workshop(s) in which they are interested.

The schedule for the day will be:

  • Advocacy Basics (10am-12noon)
  • Using the Media, without being used by the Media (1-2:15pm)
  • Working the System - Lobbying in the Dail (2:30-3:45pm)
  • Building Successful Networks and Coalitions (4-5pm)
