IPRT Executive Director Rick Lines will take part in a panel debate at the Fine Gael regional conference in Dublin. Mr. Lines and Aisling Reidy, Director of the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, will together oppose the motion "Irish law favours the offender over the victim". Speaking in favour of the motion will be Mr. Paul Williams, crime editor for the Sunday World newspaper.
Respect for rights in the penal system with prison as a last resort.
