Joint Shadow Report to the First Periodic Review of Ireland under the UNCAT

On 23 and 24 May 2011, Ireland was reviewed for the first time by the UN Committee against Torture (UNCAT). In advance of the hearing, IPRT and ICCL submitted a 'Joint Shadow Report', endorsed by 31 organisations.

The Government has just submitted its long-awaited First National Report under the UN Convention against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (UN CAT).

Joint ICCPR submission to the UN Human Rights Committee: 1-year update

In August 2009, IPRT, FLAC and ICCL made a joint submission to the UN Human Rights Committee as a 1-year update on the Concluding Observations of the Committee following their visit in 2008.

Human Rights Commission Publishes Enquiry Report on Immigration Detention

23rd January 2009

The Irish Human Rights Commission has published a report on its Enquiry into the Treatment of a Visitor Refused to land in the State. The Enquiry, which explores immigration procedures and practices at Dublin airport was instigated in relation to a complaint received by IPRT and which we referred to the Human Rights Commission.

ICCPR Shadow Report
