On 27 January 2024, Samantha Libreri of RTÉ covers IPRT response to the publication by the Minister for Justice, Helen McEntee of the Office of the Inspector of Prisons (OIP) Inspection Report Oversight Monitoring Visit During COVID-19 Pandemic Mountjoy Female Prison (Dóchas Centre) 2020 and supporting Action Plan.
The RTÉ piece reiterates IPRT's calls for the further two withheld inspection reports to be published by the Department of Justice and highlights some of the issues raised within the report released this week, almost four years after the inspection took place.
