RTÉ, Morning Ireland: COVID-19 outbreaks in prison

19th November 2021

Following news of the first prisoner death due to COVID-19 and several outbreaks in Irish prisons, IPRT Executive Director Fíona Ní Chinnéide spoke to Rachel English on Morning Ireland about IPRT’s core concerns.

Fíona reiterated IPRT's position on the prioritisation of people in prison for COVID-19 vaccination (including boosters) and the need for the Irish Prison Service to increase communication with prisoners and their families to help address any concerns they have as a result of the current circumstances.
